Ecosystem – A relatively self-contained and interconnected system of living organisms with certain essential features of their habitat (e.g., water, oxygen, mineral nutrients). All components of the system have spatial and functional interrelationships (i.e., have the common biological interchange and exchange of energy). There are different types of ecosystems such as biosphere, ocean, pond, primary landscape, biogeocenosis, anthill, drop of water, etc.
