Tyxotropy, soil – The ability of soil colloidal matter to convert from gel into sol due to the mechanical effect (e.g., shaking, vibration, mixing, etc.) and then return to the previous state spontaneously without external influence. The unfrozen tixotropic layer of soils has an ability to flow on sloping ground slowly.
