Acid hydrolysis, soil – Chemical processes dealing with the exchange of alkaline and alki-earth cations for hydrogen ions in primary and secondary minerals. This process occurs in soils due to the effect of some organic and mineral acids (e.g., fulvic acids). It results in the transformation of primary soil minerals into secondary minerals and organo-mineral complexes in the soil profile.
